National Health Practitioners of Canada

I'm Allyson, a Massage Therapy student and Integrative Thai Yoga Bodywork Practitioner, deeply passionate about somatic embodiment as a method of navigating physical discomfort. Somatic embodiment involves connecting with your body's sensations and experiences to promote healing and total well-being. With a focus on trauma-informed care, together we'll cultivate a supportive environment to strengthen the connection between your mind and body.

My commitment to healing extends far beyond traditional Massage Therapy. Mental health awareness and holistic methods are at the core of my approach. Within my therapeutic space, I prioritize techniques that help regulate the nervous system. This involves moving slowly, focusing on mobility over flexibility, and recognizing the connection between mind and body. As an empath, I embrace the human experience in all its complexity and beauty, free from judgment and stigma.

Through my training in Trauma-Informed Yoga Psychology and Somatic Embodiment Yoga, I'm deeply invested in understanding how our life experiences influence both our minds and bodies. I believe that incorporating gentle, adaptive practices that engage the senses can encourage individuals to explore and connect with their physical sensations, emotions, and experiences. By integrating these accessible body-based practices into my sessions, my intention is to offer a holistic approach that reminds individuals of their innate capacity for ease and well-being.

In our sessions, my goal is to facilitate the flow of energy throughout your body by combining elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda. Through direct engagement with your physical body, we'll observe tension patterns, breathing rhythm, and nervous system responses, and collaboratively explore your ability to heal from both physical and emotional dysfunction. We will carefully select techniques to meet your individual needs, and incorporate supportive Yoga postures that align with your body's natural rhythms to ensure no unnecessary effort. Sessions may include aromatherapy, sound therapy, breathwork, meditation, or a combination thereof. This collaborative approach empowers you to choose what best supports your healing journey. If a particular modality resonates with you, we'll explore it and, if appropriate, integrate it into our sessions. Communication is important, and I encourage open dialogue to ensure that our sessions align with your preferences and needs.

To my clients, past, present, and future: I'm deeply grateful for the opportunity to contribute to your healing journey, whether seeking relief from physical discomfort or navigating emotional well-being. I'm here to support you every step of the way.

“A healer does not heal you. A healer is someone who holds space for you while you awaken your inner healer, so that you may heal yourself” - Maryam Hasnaa

Allyson at Home

Beyond my studies and growing practice, you'll often catch me as a wildling, camping in every season, exploring the great outdoors with my dog Mango, cozying up to a good book, or soaking up the warmth of spontaneous mountain campfires. Recently, I have taken up Stand-Up Paddleboarding, and let's just say that Mango seems to have far more grace than I do... There's often a splash of hilarity with our endeavors! Passionate about Ayurveda, Yoga, and sustainable living, I'm drawn to anything that connects me with nature and the beauty of our Mother Earth. Despite navigating through turbulent waters of traumatic loss and profound pain, I've emerged stronger and am constantly evolving. I will forever claim to be a student of life and all its teachings, even within my chosen field, recognizing that true mastery lies not in claiming expertise, but in remaining open to continuous growth and discovery.
