If you are here, you are searching. I see you and I am grateful you have come to this safe space. By education I am a therapist, by calling, an intuitive healer. My undergraduate degree is in Family Science, as I have always been inspired by how small changes in an individual can alter the way an entire family functions; trust can be rebuilt, connection restored. I am passionate about supporting individuals and couples grow, adapt, learn, and change and how even the most painful events in our lives can be integrated to create meaning and joy. After spending more than a decade working with vulnerable youth and families and completing a Master’s in Social Work, I decided to transition away from the non-profit sector and devote my career to full time counselling.

I have a background in supporting youth, families experiencing divorce, unhealthy coping mechanisms, serious illness, death and dying, grief and bereavement, as well as general life transitions, trauma, anxiety, and depression.

Intentional change is hard, but together we will begin to address the thoughts that creep in late at night, or the anxiety and panic that is always just there, the weight on your chest that you can’t quite get free of. Counselling is more than just healing the patterns in our lives, it is a form of elevated self-care, where in a safe, supportive space, we are called back to relationship with ourselves. I’m here to help facilitate that reconnection.

I employ a holistic approach grounded in meeting clients where they are at and using elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Attachment Modalities, Mindfulness, and Somatic techniques.

Our bodies store memories of traumatic experiences. In session, we will explore the physical sensations that accompany hard feelings and how they resonate in our nervous system. We may also use eye movements, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and/or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to process memory and release pain.

In brave conversation, you will find new ways to create meaning, find hope and build stronger connections to the people you love. I believe that healing like everything else is a journey of ups and downs, and my job is to awaken your own abilities and answers. I will offer tools and strategies; unpack core beliefs and support you in creating powerful change. We might laugh, we might cry, and it may not always be comfortable, but it will be worth it.

We will do hard things, but we will do them together.

Kate at Home

I am a mother, an adventurer, a hobby farmer, yoga lover (although so not flexible) and a collector of graffiti art. I have survived traumatic loss and deep pain, lived to build positive relationship post divorce, remarry, and lean into the struggles of a blended family and new ways of being. I love spicy food, dystopian movies, fainting goats, epic debates and all the awkward vulnerable moments that come with being human. I write cheesy poems for fun and mostly they sound like cringey hallmark cards (and my family pretends to love them). I believe that it is an honour to be allowed to walk with someone through healing and am grateful every day to get to do this work, to witness growth and change.
